Zinc Coated Copper Sleeves

The Zinc Coated Copper Sleeves are used to create an eye termination on cable and is secured using a wire rope crimper, also known as a swager. Hourglass shape grips the cable. Meets all US standards, ideal for the marine environment.

Swaged terminations

A wire rope sleeve before and after swaging or crimping the boat lift cable.

Swaging is a method of wire rope termination that refers to the installation technique. The purpose of swaging wire rope fittings is to connect two wire rope ends together or to otherwise terminate one end of wire rope to something else. A mechanical or hydraulic swager compresses and deforms the fitting, creating a permanent connection. There are many types of swaged fittings. Threaded Studs, Ferrules, Sockets, and Sleeves are a few examples.

7 x 19 Aircraft Cable

BH-USA recommends 7 x 19 aircraft cables for boat lift applications. 7 x 19 means the rope has seven strands and there are nineteen wires in each strand. Always consider at least a 5:1 safety factor when figuring working loads. A test certificate for all cables sold by BH-USA is available upon request. Aircraft cables are not suitable for use in aircraft controls.

NOT FOR LIFTING HUMANS
Wire rope sleeves are used to secure the ends of the wire rope. BH-USA cannot warranty or be held liable for cable, clips, fasteners or any other rigging past the purchase date. It is the responsibility of the ultimate user to determine a working load limit for each application. Many factors should be considered: included among, but not limited to, loads applied, speed of operation, acceleration or deceleration, length of rope or cable, shock loads, abrasion, corrosion, number, size, condition and location of drums and sheaves, facilities for inspection, and the danger to life and property should a rope or cable break. Wire does not ever use wire rope sold by or made by BH-USA or any product made by BH-USA to lift humans in any way. Never leave wire rope sleeves submerged in saltwater for more than the time to float your boat, always rinse with fresh water after every use.
