Boat Lift Motors are electric motors that attach to a boat hoist that is used to turn the gears of the boat hoist. Flat-plate boat hoist motors are known as 56 frame motors, because of the claw foot for mounting. The claw foot mounting holes are spaced to industry standard mounting hole sizes. The direct-drive hoist motors are known as C-Face motors because it has no mounting claw and is directly mounting into the enclosed gearbox of a direct drive hoist.
Motors without wiring come standard 220v from the factory but are dual voltage and can be converted for 110v applications. Wired motors come factory wired with a control cable that includes a GFCI and a boat lift drum switch. These motors are factory wired 110v or 220v and are ready to plug into the electrical outlet.
Two different types of drum switches are momentary or maintained. Momentary switches, also known as spring switches, must be held in place during the boat lift operation. If you let go of the switch the motor will stop. Maintained switches, also known as stay on switches, stays put in the place you place the lever.
