3/8″ Stainless Malleable Wire Rope Clip
The 3/8″ Stainless Malleable Wire Rope Clip is used to secure the ends of wire rope. Cast making for a strong yet economic cable attachment method. BH-USA recommends 7 x 19 aircraft cable for boat lift applications. 7 x 19 means the rope has seven strands and there are nineteen wires in each strand. Always consider at least a 5:1 safety factor when figuring working loads. Test certificate for all cable sold by BH-USA is also available upon request. Wire rope clamps are used to secure the ends of wire rope but it is 112ant to use the steel clamps in a way that secures the rope. The saddle and the nuts should be on the opposite side from the terminated end. In other words, make sure that all of the wire rope clamps are on the same side and that the loops are on the side of the terminated end BH-USA cannot warranty or be held liable for cable, clips, fasteners or any other rigging past the purchase date. It is the responsibility of the ultimate user to determine a working load limit for each application. Many factors should be considered: included among, but not limited to, loads applied, speed of operation, acceleration or deceleration, length of rope or cable, shock loads, abrasion, corrosion, number, size, condition and location of drums and sheaves, facilities for inspection, and the danger to life and property should a rope or cable break. Wire do not ever use wire rope sold by or made by BH-USA or any product made by BH-USA to lift humans in any way.
Malleable cast iron clamps should only be used in non-critical applications. ASME, OSHA, & ASTM recommend only forged clamps for critical applications.
Stainless steel wire rope clamps do not conform to this federal specification.
For 112ant or critical applications and if to be used in overhead lifting or suspending, always use standard drop forged type and drop forged first grip type clamps.
Also never use a malleable iron type clip for these applications.
In general, forging is stronger than a casting.
